more than a feeling...

Ahhh, nothing like fresh Boston in the morning.

Boston's first album is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's kind of silly for me to even say anything is a favorite since I can't actually pick favorites and my range of "favorites" ranges from Zeppelin to Roberta Flack to CCR, to Neil Young, to Frank Sinatra and Heart and Mantovani........... you get the picture?

Basically my favorites are the ones that make me feel the best. It's not always the most talented guitarist or vocalist (except of course, Ann Wilson is, by far.) but the album as a whole, how it helps me wake up or cope or dance or sing...
This record was one of the first ones I listened to on my own, flipping through my mom's collection in middle school. I kept going back to it again and again year after year.

Then, during the summer of 2007, I opened the Coat almost every day with this record. Side one will forever remind me of setting out old furniture and mannequins on the sidewalk during beautiful sunshiny summer days at the dreamy age of twenty.

This will forever remain a favorite.

"It's more than a feeling when I hear that old song they used to play..."
